The work of award-winning playwright Ronit Rubinstein work has been produced and read across North America. As a veteran storyteller, she has been performing on various Toronto stages for over a decade. Currently, she is  making those two pursuits meet in the middle touring her first full-length solo storytelling show, Things My Dad Kept, which debuted at Replay Story Fest and won Best of the Fringe at the 2025 Toronto Fringe Festival. She is a co-editor of and contributor to the anthology City Voices: A Book of Monologues by Toronto Artists and a winner of the Cayle Chernin Development Award. Ronit studied English and Theatre at Princeton University.

This interactive series will help you create and then share stories from your own experience or stories that are familiar and important to you with new expertise. 

A small sample from the first session – just a taste:

• Storytelling as an ancient art to the current popular storytelling landscape
• Comedy vs drama vs dramedy
• What makes a story work well? What cliches to avoid?
• The hardest parts—beginnings and endings

After discussion of these and many more aspects of a story, it will be your turn to write and share two-minute stories of your own.  What worked well? What was challenging?
