Since 1918, Alumnae Theatre has been a non-union, semi-professional women-run theatre in Toronto flourishing with both men and women volunteers.
Throughout the year, we have positions for volunteers to help with marketing, set painting, props finding, costume assisting, backstage crew, stage managers and lighting operators. Training provided.
Call for Producers!
FireWorks is seeking Associate Producers to help bring the festival to life!
Associate Producers will be responsible for the smooth operation of 1 production (out of 3 total) that is part of the 3-week FireWorks Festival, taking place from April 28-May 16, 2027. Associate Producers are integral to the play and director selection processes, as well as casting and hiring creative personnel for their chosen production. Associate Producers report to the Artistic Producer, who is responsible for everything related to the smooth operation of the FireWorks Festival in its entirety.
Are you an actor who wants to create opportunities for yourself? Are you a writer who wants to stage your own work? This is an ideal opportunity for theatre artists from all disciplines who want to learn the ins and outs of producing. Some production experience is desired, but transferable skills in leadership, event planning, and coordination go a long way. Mentorship will be provided!

About NEW: The arrival of a Bengali bride, Nuzha, shakes up a group of Indian immigrants, including the husband she’s never met. Set in Winnipeg, this play explores the universal immigrant experiences of finding oneself and building community while dealing with piercing loneliness to create a new way of life.
With performances running January 28 – February 8, 2026, in Toronto, the production marks the beginning of something “new” at Alumnae. Join us to become a part of this historic production where we attempt to bring the communities together!
Alumnae Theatre provides rehearsal and production space, access to ATC’s costume and props collections, technical support, marketing and publicity.
