Thought-provoking and daring, our acclaimed 3-week FireWorks Festival introduces full-length plays developed right here at Alumnae through our New Ideas Festival or our New Play Development program.
Each week showcases an original script. Post-show discussions and talkbacks spark fresh insights into making theatre. Now in its 6th year, FireWorks is recognized for its adventurous programming and innovative staging.

Panel Discussions
Each Thursday after the show, we “pull back the curtain” for a stimulating panel discussion
about issues raised by the play.

Soundscapes & Silence - Panel Discussion
John Stuart Campbell – Sound designer, with guitar and looper.
John has been designing sound for Victoria Shepherd for many years. Whether it’s reworking a classic song, or, composing original music, John makes his musical mark on each production. Hear him speak about creating the soundscape, the importance of silence and watch how he writes and arranges, using his guitar and a looper.
