Nehrjas al Saffrah
Recent acting credits include: 36 Little Plays About Hopeless Girls (Toronto Fringe '09); Angelika's Promise (AGO); Mother Courage and Her Children (Richard Greenblatt); Metamorphoses (Jordan Pettle). Sochiis also hard at work on her first documentary filmabout artists in exile.It has been an utter pleasure to work on Judith Thompson's beautiful play - thank you Liz and Jay! Sochi is a graduate of Ryerson Theatre School and the American Musical and Dramatic Academy.
CHRISTOPHER KELK,
Dr. David Kelly
Christopher has been a professional actor for 36 years and has performed on stages from BC to Newfoundland, beginning with a season at the Shaw Festival.
He has been fortunate enough to perform in 20 Shakespearean productions, and he played the role of King Lear last summer with Driftwood Theatre. Other favourite roles include Ralph Waldo Emerson in Democracy, Bri in A Day in the Death of Joe Egg, Vladimir in Waiting for Godot and Iago in Othello.
He is on the board of the fledgling Guild Festival Theatre in Scarborough and will be translating Aristophane's The Clouds for them for their 2011 season. He may be seen onscreen in Universal Pictures Billy Madison. He possesses a Ph.D. in Classics and is about to have his verse translation of Juvenal's Satires published by Edwin Mellen Press in Lewiston, NY.
LAURA VINCENT,

Laura is delighted to be working at the Alumnae again. She was born and bred in London, England, and attended Queen's University in Kingston, ON, graduating in 2007 with a degree in Fine Arts. She studied acting at The Players Academy in Toronto. Past credits include Mercutio in Romeo and Juliet and Farmer Bob Acres in The Rivals (Queen's University) and Constance in Anne Marie McDonald's Goodnight Desdemona (Good Morning Juliet) at The Players Academy. Most recently she appeared as Alice in Alumnae's 2009 production of Patrick Marber's Closer.
JUDITH THOMPSON,
Playwright
Montreal-born Judith Thompson has been called The Dark Lady of Canadian Theatre her characters are often unpredictable, marginalized people confronting the horror and violence of modern society. She is a two-time winner of the Governor General's Award for White Biting Dog, (1985), and for a collection of her plays, The Other Side of the Dark, (1989). She has also won the Floyd S. Chalmer's Canadian Play Award for I Am Yours (1987) and Lion in the Streets (1991), and was made an Officer of the Order of Canada in 2005. In 2008, after a critically-lauded run at CanStage that won Palace of the End a Dora Mavor Moore Award as Outstanding New Play, it earned Thompson the Susan Smith Blackburn Prize in Texas - she is the first Canadian playwright honoured with this award. In August 2009, Palace of the End won the 2009 Amnesty International Freedom of Expression Award.

Liz recently completed her BA in Drama and Theatre Studies (Hons.) and Film Studies at Trinity College Dublin, Ireland. Production credits include: director for While Isabelle Bleeds (InspiraTO Festival 2009), Twelfth Night (Ruckus Magazine), Antigone (Samuel Beckett Centre, Debut 2007 Festival), The Two Gentlemen of Verona and Heaven and Hell (On Earth): A Divine Comedy (both for Dublin University Players); producer for True Love Has Two Faces, The Guest Room and Boots and Cobblestones (all for Dublin University Players); publicity for Dr Caligari/Masses and Man (Samuel Beckett Centre).
Acting credits include: Olivia in Twelfth Night (Ruckus Magazine), Capt. Collins in Our Country's Good (Samuel Beckett Centre), Priest/Guard in Jesus Christ Superstar (Dublin University Players), Antipholus of Syracuse in The Comedy of Errors, Jessica in The Merchant of Venice, Julia in The Two Gentlemen of Verona, Lady Mountague/Apothecary in Romeo and Juliet, Titania in A Midsummer Night's Dream (all for Shakespeare Young Company), Mercutio in Romeo and Juliet (Theatre Ashbury, tour to Heidelberg, Germany).
JASON MAGHANOY,
Director, Set & Costume Designer
Jason is a graduate of the National Theatre School of Canada, and is currently the playwright-in-residence at Cahoots Theatre Projects. His most recent production dust (staged as part of the 2008 SummerWorks Theatre Festival) was selected as an Outstanding New Play and Production by NOW Magazine and was published, along with his play The Corner, in the Spring 2009 issue of the Canadian Theatre Review. Selected directing credits include dust, The Corner (2008 Next Stage Theatre Festival), and paper series, written by David Yee (2009 ReCurrents at the CrossCurrents Festival, Factory Theatre). Upcoming: gas (2010 Next Stage Theatre Festival) and a remount of dust, as part of the Wildside Festival at the Centaur Theatre, Montreal. LYNNE PATTERSON,

Lynne has been passionate about theatre since she was 10, when her mum took her to the Theatre Royal in Nottingham, England. Recently her involvement has been working on boards, committees and volunteering at festivals; so this is her first show for a very, very, very long time. Its been a thrilling experience and I hope that everyone enjoys this stimulating and challenging play. Thanks to the director, cast and crew, who worked so hard and are all brilliant. Special thanks to Tina who is a gem and we couldnt have done it without her.

Lighting Designer
Alaina is excited to be working with Alumnae Theatre and everyone involved in Palace of the End. Since receiving her BFA in Technical Production from Ryerson Theatre School in 2006, Alaina has been busy working in dance, theatre and live entertainment as a stage manager/lighting designer/technician. Recent dance and theatre shows include LD/ASM for the Canadian tour of A Story Before Time (Kaha:wi Dance Theatre), Lighting Design for The Corner and dust (JSquared Productions). Recent corporate and concert credits include: Lighting Designer for the Toronto Maple Leafs Home Opener Tailgate, Digital Lighting Systems Tech for The 96th Annual Grey Cup Halftime Show (Canadian Football League Montreal 2008), Lighting Systems Tech for A Mystical Journey (Aga Khan Trust for Culture - US Tour 2008). In 2010, Alaina will be working as PSM/LD for Kaha:wi Dance Theatre's International Mixed Programme Tour, Lighting Designer for gas with Jsquared as part of the Next Stage Theatre Festival and Lighting Design for a remount of dust in Montreal as part of the Wildside Festival.
